Kids Day at Polo

While most Polo attendees are too busy "being seen", networking, and sipping Perrier-Jouet to even know there are horses running about on the field, this Saturday will bring a new air of whimsy to the polo grounds, courtesy of collections | by stride rite.

The Bridgehampton Polo Club along with Stride Rite will host the first ever Kid's Day at the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge. Space Odyssey USA - Family Entertainment Center will provide games and activities for all of the young, future moguls in attendance.

More power to Stride Rite for trying something new. And here's to getting the winning picture of the first kid to face plant himself and his ice cream cone into the front seat of a CLK550. ;)

Jon Gosselin and his new BFF, Michael Lohan, attended Week 2 of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Field this Saturday. After sipping Snapple at Cooper's Beach and shopping at J. Crew in Southampton, the Bromance moved to Polo where a swarm of paparazzi sat in wait for 'Gohan's' next move. The two were quickly ushered into the VIP tent where they chatted up the likes of Jill & Bobby Zarin, Ramona & Mario Singer, and Todd Rome, president of Blue Star Jets.

Gosselin and Lohan arrived with Michael's fiancée, Erin Muller, and Mike Heller of Talent Resources. Gosselin, who we chatted with while he was snacking on his 3rd bag of popchips™ because he was “starving,” told us he didn't even get to see the Polo match things were so crazy. “They were playing Polo?,” Gosselin joked, “I didn't get to see much of it, but it looked really cool.”

Stay tuned for more on the never ending Gosselin/Lohan Hamptons Bromance and check after the jump for more pics! This week's Polo Photo Gallery will up soon. It was a particularly insane weekend around here! ;)

(And kudos to GofG Hamptons for tagging them “Gohan” -we love it!)

Closing Day Polo Party!

Can you believe the summer is almost over?

Nothing starts the countdown to the end of summer quite like Closing Day at the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge. This Saturday, Hamptons Magazine and the HRS Princess Foundation, along with OnDa Ground Music, presented a special live performance for the closing day festivities at Blue Star Jets Field by HRS Princess.

Star Jones, Ken Rosato, Morris & Jaci Reid, Don & Katrina Peebles, Michael Lohan & Erin Muller, JB Berns, Zahra Saeed, Jason & Hailey Binn, Stella Keitel, Cristina Cuomo and Debra Halpert were among the special guests at this weekend's polo bash that brought an end to six consecutive weeks of world class polo and parties. The event was catered once again with tantalizing treats by RCano Catering.

Despite the fact that Lisa is still shooting with a less than cooperative loaner camera that loves to overexpose, it was too hard to choose which photos to include in this week's Polo Photo Gallery so, bandwidth be dammed, we packed in an extra dozen or two!

We hope everyone had a great time at this season's polo matches and we'd like to send our sincere thanks to all of the organizers and partners of the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Challenge for having us at their tournaments and for allowing us to bring you all the hottest happenings, straight from the field, each week.

The Countdown to Bridgehampton Polo Has Begun

Start popping the Perrier-Jouët!

We have just over three weeks to go until the return of the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field.

Despite last season's numerous match cancelations, due to rain, the parties under the tents never ceased to deliver.

In 2008, The Bridgehampton Polo Club welcomed guests that included Chace Crawford, Star Jones, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Kristin Cavallari, Katie Lee Joel, Nicky Hilton, Stella Keitel, Morris & Jaci Reid, Don & Katrina Peebles, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Alex McCord, Michael Gelman, Russell Simmons, Robin Quivers, Edward Tricomi, and Hamptons Magazine's Jason & Hailey Binn, Cristina Cuomo, and Debra Halpert.

And, in the "you never know who you'll run into at polo" category, even Tina Louise, a.k.a. Ginger from Gilligan's Island, paid a visit to Blue Star Jets Field. I kid you not. At Polo, we've come to expect the unexpected.

Though we haven't received any word on who'll be hosting the Opening Day festivities on July 18th, we do have it on pretty good authority that a certain TV show about a concierge doctor in the Hamptons may very well be filming scenes at polo this season. You can bet your mallet we'll be keeping you posted on that!

Until then, here are the facts...

Celebs flocked to Opening Day of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Field.

Though the season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s showed Kourtney Kardashian breaking up with boyfriend Scott Disick, the two were seen arriving together at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Field and looking quite cozy under the VIP tent! But the celeb sightings were really kicked into high gear when Gossip Girl star and birthday boy Chace Crawford created a frenzy when he was spotted slinking into the VIP tent. Crawford arrived with an entourage of friends and an anti-social attitude as he had no time to spare for photogs or fans. Luckily for us, less camera shy celebs were also getting their VIP on at Polo - in and out of the coveted tent. Desperate Housewives star Kyle MacLachlan arrived with his pretty Project Runway Producer wife, Desiree Gruber. Beth Ostrosky Stern was all smiles on the field - despite attending sans Howard. Star Jones sipped cocktails with her beau Herb Wilson and dog Pinky. Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin enjoyed the day with daughter Ally and hubby Bobby. Blue Star Jets President Todd Rome mingled and smoked cigars. Edward Tricomi & Joel Warren of Warren-Tricomi Salons actually watched the polo match and cheered on players from the sidelines. Co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios Ben Silverman chatted up Page Six's Richard Johnson, while actors Sebastian Stam and Emanuel Sylvano posed for pics. And the reigning Prince of Polo, Nacho Figueras, enjoyed yet another day in the life of Nacho Figueras.

Kyle MacLachlan and wife Desiree Gruber brought their 1 year-old son Callum Lyon MacLachlan to Opening Day of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field. Callum, better known to all of the photographers at Polo as the cutest baby ever, was intrigued by all of the flash bulbs - but downright mesmerized by the wheels of a sleek Mercedes. The youngest celeb in the coveted VIP tent drooled alongside Chase Crawford, Star Jones, and Beth Ostrosky Stern while his assistant (a.k.a. Mommy) tended to his every whim. While the littlest MacLachlan wasn't granting interviews, he did show off his great genes and expensive taste...right before he ate his VIP bracelet.

Week Three of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge

Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Fields

Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Fields. Photo: Lisa Wagner/

I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. I missed Polo. (Cue gasp!)

For the first time in 3 years, I was unable to attend the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge. Back in 2006, my untarnished record was first ruined thanks to a grounded flight out of Myrtle Beach. This weekend, I was a only a few miles away from Blue Star Jets Field - but there I sat, grounded yet again - this time at Super Saturday! I'll spare you the sordid details, and promises of a late arriving super-star who never materialized, and just cut to the chase...there is no Polo Photo Gallery this week. (Cue sounds of utter disappointment!)

By the time I was finally able to break away from Super Saturday, I was burned to a crisp and almost as exhausted as my credit card. I made my way over to Hayground only to find myself driving against the mass exit from the parking field. When I finally reached the tents, there wasn't much left to see.

But that doesn't mean we don't have some dish...

Katie Lee Joel To Host Polo

Katie Lee Joel set to host Week 4 of Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge

Photo: Lisa Wagner/

Katie Lee Joel is set to host Week Four of the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge this Saturday, August 9th. Katie joins Blue Star Jets in hosting this weekend's Hampton Cup and, after last weekend's wash out, there should plenty of extra celebrating taking place on the polo grounds.

We think it's important to remind everyone that behind all of the showy sponsors, name dropping and Perrier-Jouët sipping, lies a cause. All proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge go to the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. For those of you who are unaware of the extraordinary work this group does, please take some time and visit their web site at

Here's an excerpt from their web site:

"Founded in late 1994, The South Fork Breast Health Coalition is a nonprofit grassroots organization of concerned citizens, East End Area Office of The American Cancer Society, SUNY Stony Brook, Southampton and other East End Town Officials. The Executive Board and Medical Advisory Board of The Coalition work closely with the Southampton Hospital Breast Center. The Coalition, along with other breast cancer groups across Long Island, is committed to finding the answer to the high incidence of breast cancer in our area."

Now that you know some good actually comes out of celebrities and socialites stomping the divots, let's give it up to all of the sponsors of this year's polo matches and thank them for taking part. To Ralph Lauren, Piaget, St. Regis, Catherine M. Zadeh Fine Jewelry, Champagne Perrier-Jouët and Stolichnaya Vodka, Capricho Residences at Playa Mujeres, FIJI Water, Tag Heuer Eyewear and Gruen Eyes, T-Mobile Sidekick, Coca-Cola, Hpnotiq, Peroni Beer and Zino Platinum Cigars...
We hereby welcome your blatant advertising and product placement and thank you for your doing your part for charity here on the East End.

A Season of Polo: Closing In On Closing Day

Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field

2009 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field.
Photo: Lisa Wagner/ News

With Week 5 of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field now behind us, that leaves us with one final Saturday of divot stomping and vodka sipping to go! It's hard to believe the summer had flown by as fast as it has. It seems like yesterday that we were counting down to Opening Day - and here we are, gearing up for Closing Day.

So far, this season has seen just about every form of celebrity you can possibly imagine. The biggest headline grabber had to be Jon & Kate Plus 8’s Jon Gosselin. The newly single octodad rolled up in his new BMW with his new BFF, Michael Lohan, and a gaggle of paparazzi in tow. By the time Week 2's match was over, there wasn't a suburban housewife in Wichita who didn't know about Polo thanks to the tabloid frenzy his well timed appearance caused. Polar opposite on the attention grabbing scale was Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford. He hit up the VIP tent on Opening Day, and never came out. Chace was celebrating his birthday that day and preferred to keep the party private. Instead of posing for pics or mingling with fans, the Gossip Guy chatted up reality darling Kourtney Kardashian and her then boyfriend, now baby daddy, Scott Disick. Week 4 saw one of the most well known divorcée's on the planet, Heather Mills, who swung by the Polo grounds and showed off her maxi dress and mini-do. Desperate Housewives’ Kyle MacLachlan and his Project Runway producer wife, Desiree Gruber, showed off their own creation, the adorable baby Callum, on Opening Day. Polo regular Beth Ostrosky Stern was also on hand for Opening Day festivities, even though she still hasn't been able to convince Howard to spend a day milling about under the tents. Star Jones was able to sweet talk her man, Chef Herb Wilson, into catching a match. The happy couple even brought along their dog, Miss Pinky.

Throughout the last five weeks we've also seen former co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios Ben Silverman, True Beauty’s Nolé Marin, racecar driver Tim George Jr., and actor Sebastian Stan - sans girlfriend Leighton Meester. Socialite and songwriter Denise Rich presented the MVP Trophy on Week 4, Michael Lohan and Dina Lohan turned their run-in at Polo into a juicy Page Six item, and five out of six of The Real Housewives of NYC all made Polo a regular stop on their summer social itinerary. We're assuming the missing Housewife, Bethenny Frankel, is either allergic to horses or she's saving the cat fights and cast drama for Season 3. We tend to think it's the latter!

So, what will they have in store for us on Closing Day? Your guess is as good as mine, but something tells me it'll definitely be note worthy. Let's just hope it's a good note!

You can see all of our Polo highlights in our Photo Gallery, and we'll have our cameras at the ready for all of the Closing Day fun!

Chace Crawford Hosts Opening Day of the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge. PHOTO: Lisa Wagner/ Can you believe it's Polo time already?

Saturday kicked off week one of the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge at JetOne Jets Field. Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford threw out the opening ball and notables like Nicky Hilton, Joe Francis, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Michael Gelman and our favorite stylist to the stars, Edward Tricomi, were all on hand to watch to the first match of the season.

The Ralph Lauren Tent is a new addition to the grounds this year, as the exclusive apparel retailer of Bridgehampton Polo. Evocative of the spirit and heritage of Polo, the shop will feature Ralph Lauren's Black Watch Collection including knits and hats all emblazoned with the Black Watch emblem, as well as an array of classic iconic knit polo shirts and accessories including sunglasses and handbags. Now you too can look like Nacho!! (OK, maybe no one can look like Nacho...but you now you can at least dress like him!)

Your Sneak Peek at Polo

Robin Quivers accompanied Beth Ostrosky to Week Four of the Bridgehampton Polo Challenge. Photo: Lisa Wagner/SplashNews.comThe powers that be here at Blog Hamptons and L. Caryle Photography are literally phoning it in today. Lisa is still in the Hamptons preparing to shoot her 175th event this weekend (OK, maybe it's only 174 or so, but I know it's a lot), Laurie is somewhere in Atlanta wrangling rattling snakes (I don't even want to know), M.M. (Mr. Mysterious to you) was last seen checking into a hotel in Riverhead and hasn't been heard from since (they have wake-up calls for a reason, Slick), and all that remains is me - the stand-in Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. Since the updates won't start rolling in until tonight and tomorrow morning, they've asked me to post a few photos from yeterday's matchless-Polo-match to hold everyone over and I'm more than happy to oblige.

Check back later tonight and in the A.M. when your folks in the field saddle up to their PC's once again and bring you the Weekend Recap, some new Blog Hamptons iTV videos, and of course photos from all of the hottest events around town!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Polo Photo Gallery: Week 2 Gets a “Reality Check”

Jon Gosselin attends Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge during a whirlwind week in the Hamptons. Photo by Lisa Wagner/SplashNews.comWeek 2 of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Field was by far one of the craziest to date. There were reality TV stars and tabloid darlings at every turn. Stealing the spotlight, and setting off a chain reaction of whispers and finger pointing, was none other than Jon Gosselin, star of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8. It goes without saying that Jon arrived at Polo sans Kate(s). Jon's soon be ex-wife, Kate 1.0, was home in Pennsylvania being photographed without her wedding ring for the first time, and Kate 2.0, former Star Magazine reporter Kate Major, was driven home from the Hamptons the day before. Word has it after Kate Major publicly professed her “feelings” for Gosselin to Star, the newly single octodad suddenly became “claustrophobic.” Gosselin drove 2.0 back to NYC in his black BMW and returned to the Hamptons to spend the rest of the weekend partying stag. While at Polo, Gosselin spoke with People Magazine's Jeffrey Slonim and told him that he's “...single – per se.” Talk then turned to yet another girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, whom Gosselin had vacationed with just a week earlier in Saint-Tropez. Gosselin told People, “She doesn't like this [craziness]. She loves me for who I am and not for what I do.”

(And you thought you just needed a scorecard for Polo!)

Fab Find: Xanté Ginger Martini

Even though our 12 day medical hiatus forced us to miss Closing Day of the 2009 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field, we recently had the opportunity to enjoy the day's signature drink, the Xanté Ginger Martini. Xanté and Hamptons Magazine hosted the closing day celebration at Polo and the Ginger Martini's were a huge hit in the VIP tent - and we can taste why! Xanté is described as a “ménage a trois combining the sweetness of virgin pears with a touch of the finest French Cognac matured for four years in French Limousine Oak barreled with hints of vanilla.” Pairing it with ginger and lemon not only cuts some of the sweetness, but it's the perfect complement to the notes of pear. It definitely cracked our list of new favorite drinks and was introduced just in time to become the ‘it’ cocktail for Fall.

ShamWow Pitchman: God Beat Him Up Too!

Vincent Shlomi, the ShamWow Guy, pops up at Polo!Vince Shlomi, the man better known as the ShamWow guy, made headlines when he was arrested on felony battery charges back in February for punching a prostitute in the face because she intentionally bit, and refused to release, his tongue! Fast forward to Saturday, August 8th, when we found Mr. Shlomi himself at the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field in Bridgehampton! (Say what?) After doing a double take, I couldn't resist walking over with my trusty recorder and asking Shlomi, a former Scientologist, about his infamous run-in with the law – and I’m so glad I did! Otherwise we never would have known that it was GOD who actually served up a bitch slap!

“You gotta learn a lesson as you go through life,” Shlomi told Blog Hamptons, “God slaps you around a little bit when you drink too much. So like, uh, I think I got slapped a couple times, and uh, [I thought] ‘Oh, OK, I get it - you want me to go in this direction.’ So that’s kinda what happened.”

See folks, that’s all it was. God saw Vince steering himself in the wrong direction and sent a hooker to bite his tongue off and get him back on track. No biggie. (Talk about working in mysterious ways!)

As hard as it was to come up with a follow-up to that, I just had to know what the Slap Chop and ShamWow pitchman has up his gadget loving sleeve now. Is there a new must-have gizmo on the horizon that’s going to make America “love his nuts” even more than we already do? It seems Shlomi has been branching out from infomercials and has been in NYC working on “a movie project” and – no joke – “designing some swimwear lines” with his new business partner, Courtney Bingham. I’m afraid that’s as far as we got in our interview, because once my mind’s eye started conjuring up images of Vince sporting a Speedo made of Sham-scraps, I knew it was time to move on.

But I will say this, before I left to cleanse my psyche with an Awesome Auger, I had to give him props. It’s not every day that a guy pays $1,000 for a prostitute only to wind up on the evening news with a bloody tongue and a rap sheet. I expected the surprisingly calm & soft spoken Shlomi to cut me off with a standard issue “no comment” as soon I asked about that ‘fateful’ night. But to his credit, he kept a great sense of humor about it and took it all in stride. And that’s gotta be worth something right? (At least $19.95 plus shipping and handling!!)

We were as curious as you probably are as to how Vince came to be at Polo in the first place. He joked that he came “by bus”, but someone we spoke with told us he came as a guest of a guest and was just in town for the weekend. I tell ya, you really never know who you’re going to run into over there. Movie stars, politicians, CEO’s, doctors, lawyers, socialites, musicians, athletes, models, and the occasional tabloid just never know who’s going to pop up at Polo!

It Was a Polo Perfect Day

Bridgehampton Polo Club - August 16, 2008

Photo: Lisa Wagner/

Week Five of the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge welcomed wonderful weather, delicious Latin American food, and a television icon. And low and behold, we even got a game of polo too!

The crowds were dressed in their Polo best at Blue Star Jets Field this Saturday as Nacho Figueras and Chef Doug Rodriguez, the “King of Ceviche,” served a savory sampling of the cuisine from Nuela, their new Latin American restaurant opening in the Flatiron District this fall. Judging by the way the Ecuadorean ceviche (made with Perrier Jouet of course), were flying off the trays, I'd say that Nuela should expect to receive a warm welcome when they take over Sapa this September.

OK, Let’s Mingle…

Unfortunately, this week's match between Team Jumeirah Culu Culu and Team Heathcote Farm was cancelled due to rain. And though the downpour left the parking lot a giant mud puddle, the sun did eventually shine and the party was back in full swing under the Mercedes-Benz & T-Mobile tents! The DJ's played, the champagne flowed and mud be damned...high heels and long white dresses still reigned supreme.

Stride Rite Scores Right at Polo

Kristin Cavallari decorated her Stride Rite sneakers at Polo.

All Photos: Lisa Wagner/

Cotton Candy, Foosball, & Face Painters might not be the first things you think of when you hear "Bridgehampton Polo," but when Saturday's sponsor, collections | by stride rite, transformed the big tent at Blue Star Jets Field into the biggest playroom in the Hamptons, that's exactly what we got. It was all about smiling kids with painted faces, balloon hats and free sneakers at Polo's first official Kid's Day.

collections | by stride rite came with boxes upon boxes of little shoes for little people and set up a huge activity table where the kids could color and adorn their new shoes to suit their own hopped-up-on-cotton-candy personalities. Alex McCord's son, Francois, was so pleased with his new sneakers, which he designed in green and orange magic marker, that he wanted to ditch the shoes he came in right on the spot. Even celebrities like Kristin Cavallari got in on the action. Kristin pulled up a chair to a table of 6 year olds and designed her own one-of-a-kind stride rite sneaks...choosing her initials made of red felt as her signature style. Celebrity blogger Micah Jesse couldn't resist a little design time himself and so he tracked down a pink pair which he quickly began to improve the fierceness of with some purple accents. Granted, he was a little distraught to learn that stride rite didn't have any Swarovski Crystal on hand for the ultimate finishing touch in bedazzling footwear, but we soothed his pain with another Perrier-Jouet and we think he'll be OK.

You can have a look at this week's expanded Polo Picture Gallery after the jump and see all of the fun that was had at Week Two of the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge - July 26, 2008!

OK now, say it with me kiddies...

Technically, They're Calling It Technical Problems

...which translates to, "we're not quite sure what the problem is."

All morning we've been experiencing "technical problems" and have been unable to successfully post anything. When we could get a post up, it would magically disappear or cause SQL errors! We're not even sure how long this post will be visible!

Our hosting company is working on it, and I'm working on it, and we hope to have it resolved soon - but we've already been at it since we noticed the problem at 8:45 a.m. and we're not much further along than when we started.

At last check, the Calendar was still loading, so if we're not back up in time to post our Weekend Highlights, we hope you'll visit the Calendar of Events for a rundown. (And now I just rnoticed I can't add links either!)

We hope to have this resolved soon...fingers crossed! If we’re not back up by 5 o’clock, we will see you at Polo, the Spread premiere in East Hampton, Author’s Night in East Hampton, the Skinnygirl Margarita Launch at the Montauk Yacht Club and of course, at AXE Lounge - just to name a few!

Wish us luck!

Lauren Conrad of "The Hills" Parties at the Svedka Vodka Party at Lily Pond

Photo: Lisa Wagner/

This weekend brought glorious weather and a bevy of stars to the Hamptons. Unfortunately, we spent the majority of the weekend doing more field work on the Brinkley/Cook story for a variety of entertainment news outlets, so we weren't able to attend some of our scheduled events. Our first disappointment was missing the Hamptons Magazine party for their latest cover star Beth Ostrosky. We just ADORE Beth and were looking forward to seeing her and Howard at Savannah's in Southampton, but it just wasn't in the cards this weekend. We're hoping to catch her at the Get Wild event or even, fingers crossed, opening day of Polo! (More on Polo a little later!)

Karina Smirnoff Parties at Lily PondWhat we were able to attend was the "Svedka Vodka Joins The Party" event at Lily Pond with Lauren Conrad, Karina Smirnoff and Sean Stewart. Now, if you follow Page Six (and by now it's been picked up by every other outlet in the world) than you know the rumor mill is all a buzz that Sean and Karina hooked up that night. What WE can tell you is that we saw them arrive at exactly the same time (we believe in different Escalades but weren't paying enough attention), and that Sean Stewart waited outside the club until Karina was done taking photos - then they walked in together. We didn't see them making out in the club, nor did our spies after we left, but we do have a pic that shows, if nothing else...Sean was definitely appreciating all things Smirnoff! ;) Check out this pic after the jump!

And kidding...
That was IT for us. DAMN YOU PETER COOK!!!!

We were so involved in wrapping up the divorce story for our bosses - wrapping it up for someone else's boss - PLUS working with that crew, filling in for this crew - that our entire weekend was blown. So what else did we miss? Oh, just the screening of Mamma Mia! at UA Southampton Cinema. You know, the one that Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Smith attended. Yep, that one. The same one that Katie Couric and Rudy & Judy Guiliani were at. Sigh.

We also missed a fresh and bare faced Gwyneth Paltrow at Nick & Toni's Great Chef's Dinner this weekend. (Hey, we only let down two outlets by missing that one!) The blonde beauty certainly had her fair share of good eats though as we heard she was also seen at Fresno in East Hampton this weekend as well...with none other than Guy Ritchie (sans Madonna), Iron Man co-star Robert Downey Jr. and hubby Chris Martin.

So, if we missed anything else, have a heart and don't tell us. We averted our eyes from Page Six as long as we could, and even that couldn't keep the news of all we had missed from getting to us and crushing our spirits.

Work. Ain't it a bitch!

Gone Wild Goes Wrong In Smithtown

37-year-old Matthew O'Sullivan, a production staffer who works for Joe Francis' Girls Gone Wild video series, was arrested last night in Smithtown and charged with first-degree criminal sexual act.

Girls Gone Wild were in town for a scheduled event at the nightclub Nubar on Route 25 in Smithtown. The GGW crew and their rolling, bare-breast welcoming tour bus, were in town filming for a new GGW series, "The Search For The Wildest Bar in America." According to preliminary reports, a 20-year-old female waved down police on Route 25 at 2:30 a.m. and claimed that she was sexually assaulted. She told police she was invited onto the GGW bus where she was subjected to O'Sullivan's "unwanted sexual contact."

Joe Francis, founder of Girls Gone Wild, has been knee-deep in his own legal troubles ever since 2002. With a plethora of charges under his belt, from child pornography to tax evasion, Francis is no stranger to accusations brought against his franchise by female participants. As of this morning, it was not yet known if Matthew O'Sullivan has an attorney or if his employer is prepared to support him against these charges. O'Sullivan will be arraigned today in Central Islip.

The Borrowed Blog: Bentley's Don't Float

Kourtney KardashianJust a few weeks after they were spotted canoodling at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field, Kourtney Kardashian has announced that she and off-again-on-again boyfriend Scott Disick are expecting their first child. The happy news comes just in time to promote her spin-off show, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, which debuts on E! this Sunday.  [Star]

When we first read The East Hampton Press story on the Bentley that sunk to the bottom of Lake Montauk, we couldn't help but think of that famous line from Risky Business; "Who's the U-Boat Commander?" In this case, it was Paul Marzario - who was reminded that his $125,000 loss was "just" a car.  [EH Press]

What's 94 feet wide, 634 feet long and has north-facing windows? Herzog & de Meuron’s new design for the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton.  [NYT]

And last but not least, Bethenny Frankel takes the words right out of our mouths and tweets to the world that parking in East Hampton is no laughing matter! (Which reminds me, I have to pay my parking tickets!)  [@Bethenny]

Is It Too Late For a Wrap Up?

You know what they say...better late than never!

Lola Consuelos and Mom Kelly Ripa. Photo: Lisa Wagner/SplashNews.comAlec Baldwin kicked off another amazing weekend on Friday night at Guild Hall’s Annual Summer Gala. The annual gala started at Guild Hall with a special preview of Larry Rivers: Major Early Works and finished with a lavish dinner at Mulford Farm and a live auction by auctioneer Simon De Pury followed by dancing to the celebrated sound of Peter Duchin conducting the Peter Duchin Orchestra. On Saturday morning Miss Lola Consuelos made sure her Mom, Kelly Ripa, didn’t sleep in late. Lola and Kelly were among the first to arrive at Ross School for a special Jonas Brothers concert. Sailor Lee Cook kept her Dad, Peter Cook, on time as well while brother Jack kept an eye on Mom Christie Brinkley. Ali and Cody Lohan brought Mom Dina to the concert and Little Miss Sunshine herself, Abigail Breslin joined them all in dancing the day away and swooning over Kevin, Joe and Nick.

Katie Lee Joel and MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe at Polo - August 9, 2008. Photo: Lisa Wagner/SplashNews.comAfter Ross it was off to the Bridgehampton Polo Club for an afternoon of partying despite the cancellation of yet another match. Rain during the week left the polo field too wet to play on, so all of the action was kept under the tents. Katie Lee Joel was the day’s host and looked stunning in her Fendi dress and purple pumps. Katie’s good friend, Beth Ostrosky, stopped by and brought her house guest, Robin Quivers, along to mingle in the VIP tent. Dina, Ali and Cody Lohan also made a pit-stop at Polo as did fashion maven Liza Deyrmenjian, Page Six’s Richard Johnson, Jaci and Morris Reid, Social Life’s Devorah Rose, Russell Simmons and MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe.

After Polo the crowds were split between many worthy fund raising events. Gwyneth Paltrow supported the Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue Organization party, at photographer Steven Klein's Bridgehampton farm, as did Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Andrew Saffir, Nicole Miller, Sale Johnson, Russell Simmons, Katie Lee Joel, Rosanna Scotto, Rocco DiSpirito and Marcy Warren. Madonna was the much hyped but disappointing no show, though she could have been standing right next to us and we wouldn’t have known – the party was PITCH BLACK!

Matthew Reeve welcomes guests to The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation's Annual Hamptons Summer Soiree. Photo: Lisa Wagner/SplashNews.comOver in Southampton Matthew Reeve, son of Christopher Reeve, hosted The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation’s annual Summer Soiree at the Pink Elephant. Matthew told us of the great work the foundation has been doing since we saw him at last year’s Soiree at B. Smith’s. We are especially grateful for the foundation’s efforts as shortly after meeting Matthew last summer, someone very close to our family suffered a severe spinal cord injury and worked closely with The Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation through his ongoing rehabilitation. Matthew was moved to hear of his progress and stressed the importance of fund raisers such as this to help raise funds for additional research to develop treatments and cures for paralysis.

Matthew’s sister, Alexandra, who also sits on the board of the foundation, was missed at this year’s fund raiser - Matthews tells us Alexandra is in London prepping for her Bar Exam and planning her upcoming wedding. Congrats to Alexandra on both!

Henry Buhl opened his Southampton home to host Sunflowers After Hours. The event raised money for The Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless (A.C.E.), an organization which was founded by Buhl. Honorary chair, Susan Sarandon, was unable to attend the event, but that didn’t stop guests like Ramona Singer from celebrating their 16th year of “helping the homeless help themselves” with an elegant Clambake and dancing to the sounds of NY City Swing. CBS 2’s Kirstin Cole served as the evening host.

VH1 Holds Casting Call For Rock of Love Bus Starring Bret Michaels at Porky's in Hampton Bays - August 9, 2008. Photo: Lisa Wagner/SplashNews.comFrom the sublime to the thoroughly ridiculous, we capped off Saturday night at Porky’s in Hampton Bays to shoot the open casting call for VH1’s Rock of Love Bus staring Bret Michaels. We expected an endless line of desperate hopefuls and reality star wannabe’s, but what we got instead were five women, most of whom had found their courage at the bottom of the club's signature drink, F.U.B.A.R. One Rock of Love hopeful didn't even know who Bret Michaels is but signed up with VH1 anyway for her shot at 15 minutes of fame.

Sunday brought another day of fund raising to Ross, this time at Ross Lower School in Bridgehampton. Tony Hawk held the first East Coast version of his Stand Up For Skateparks benefit, which was presented by Activision. Jon Bon Jovi, Vern Troyer, and Ralph Macchio all made appearances. Peggy Siegel screened Woody Allen’s new movie "Maria Cristina Barcelona" in Southampton and guests including Calvin Klein all gathered at Savannah's afterwards for cocktails.

Around town Alexa Ray Joel hung out at Grappa, Stacy Keibler and boyfriend Geoff Stults partied at Surf Lodge, and Gwyneth dined at Nick & Toni’s, as did Calvin Klein, David Geffen and Sandy Gallin.

What can we say? Just another hum-drum weekend in the Hamptons. ;)

Peebles Path Led To Elaine's

Photo:As the old saying goes...timing is everything. And no one seems to know that better than one of our favorite Hampton social staples, Don Peebles.

While the rest of the country is busy being bailed out and foreclosed, Don Peebles seems to be sitting pretty on a $4 billion development project portfolio that's full of luxury hotels, residential high-rises and a slew of commercial developments. With projects changing the landscape from New York to San Francisco, Don Peebles knows a thing or two about building wealth. And, thankfully, he's all too willing to share some of the strategies and secrets that made him a multi-millionaire by the age of 27 and the CEO of one of the nation's most successful real estate investment firms.

The Borrowed Blog: Dating, Gas & Conversation

Billy Joel“And so it goes...”

Billy Joel has apparently returned to the dating scene. Page Six is reporting that the recently separated Piano Man has hooked up with former soap star, Alex Donnelley. Which means that I lost the office pool on how long it would take the paparazzi to descend upon Sag Harbor for their first attempts at rebound pics. (Six weeks, Billy. You couldn't have waited a full six weeks?)   [Page Six]

Alec Baldwin and screenwriter Jon Robin Baitz will present a Screenwriting Conference at the Avram Theater on the Southampton Campus of Stony Brook University this August 1st. Guests of the conference can expect "surprising, humorous and practical conversation." And for $35 bucks, that seems like a pretty good deal.   [ NY]

One story that had a plethora of headline options was this little gassy nugget on Governor David Paterson. Seems the Governor and fellow guests at Joan and Skip Hamburg's backyard BBQ needed some state aide to heat things up.   [Page Six]

The always lovely Christy Turlington hosted the Shop For Care in-store benefit at Temperley London in East Hampton on Saturday. While we were saying "Oh my God, look at the time" over at Polo, Christy was greeting guests like Fabiola Beracasa, Jessica Seinfeld, Derek Blasberg, Jason Binn, and Matt Levine. Our apologies, Christy!   [GofG Hamptons]

Because no where else but in New York can you be walking down the street and stumble upon a living legend throwing a concert right there on the street - or on a building as the case may be.

Hamptons Magazine hold Annual Clambake at Montauk Yatch ClubWe hope by now you've all paid a visit to our Events Calendar to help you plan your weekend itinerary. There is so much to choose from this weekend! Saturday begins bright an early, at 9 a.m. to be exact, when Dan Aykroyd and Mathew Modine lend their support to the Soldier Ride in Amagansett. Then it's off for some family fun at CMEE's 1st Annual Family Fair at 11a.m. - followed of course by a another wonderful afternoon at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge. From there, it gets a little harder to chose. Hamptons Magazine and the Montauk Yacht Club will be holding their annual Clambake from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., which is up against Rock The Farm, where Dan Akykroyd returns on the scene with the Blues Brothers to rock out in support the Wounded Warriors Project. And we can't forget about the The Watermill Center Benefit, Inferno, at 6 p.m., or the the Jack Wills Silent Disco on Main Beach at 6:45! Renée Zellweger's Blue Parrot After-Party

Renee Zellweger stars in My One and OnlyRenée Zellweger closed down The Blue Parrott in East Hampton on Saturday night to throw the after-party for the screening of her new movie, “My One and Only,” a movie based on the life of George Hamilton's mother. Renee plays George's mother, Ann Devereaux, during a period of time when she took George and his brother Robbie on the road and searched city after city for a wealthy replacement husband.

The screening was held at the Goose Creek Estate in East Hampton and afterwards guests were invited back to The Blue Parrot for dinner and margaritas - which is where we caught up with the fun. Renée arrived at the Parrot with her parents and a few girlfriends. And before you ask, there were no Bradley Cooper sightings!

Joy Behar was all smiles when she arrived with her long time "spousal equivalent" Steve Janowitz, and co-owner Jon Bon Jovi had his high school sweetheart, wife Dorethea, by his side as he chatted up Marc Jacobs and his fiancé Lorenzo Martone. George Hamilton and his doctor girlfriend Barbara Sturm were also on hand, as was the Prince of Polo, Nacho Figueras, and his wife Delphina, Tory Burch, Peggy Siegal, and our favorite accidental party crasher, Bethenny Frankel.

Since we were off-duty for this soiree, and co-crashing with Bethenny and her beau Jason Hoppy, we didn't take any photos - which was probably a good thing. Between The Blue Parrot's free flowing Dirty Margaritas and Bethenny's Skinnygirl Margaritas, our hand to eye coordination was best left untested.

So, in lieu of photos, we thought we'd feature the movie trailer of "My One and Only," which stars Renée Zellweger, Kevin Bacon, Logan Lerman, Eric McCormack, Chris Noth, Mark Rendall, Nick Stahl, and Steven Weber. Everyone at the after-party raved about the film - enough so that we're making a point to check it out this weekend!

My One and Only” opens nationwide this Friday, August 21st.

Where In The World Is Michael Strahan?

Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy

Photo: Lisa Wagner/

OK, so the weekend is over, Christie Brinkley has officially left the courthouse, we've uploaded, downloaded, transcribed and wi-fi'd ourselves to death, and now we finally have a minute's rest to do the weekend recap. Whew!

The first thing you need to know about this past weekend is that you didn't need Hampton Angels, a publicist, or Mike Satsky's phone number in your iPhone to get the inside scoop on all of the hot parties. All you needed to do was follow Michael Strahan. That man, and his DROP DEAD GORGEOUS girlfriend, Nicole Murphy (yes, that Nicole Murphy), was everywhere this weekend.

We first spotted the sexy couple at Jill & Bobby Zarin's Fourth of July party in Sag Harbor. There they hung poolside with The Real Housewives of NYC - minus the film crew and definitely minus the McCord–Van Kempens. Then we found Michael & Nicole again over at The Estate where they hung with Ryan Seacrest, Charlie Walk, Eugene Remm, Mark Birnbaum, Rocco DiSpirito and Brandon Davis.

Ciroc Vodka Hosts Diddy July 4th at Lily PondTHEN we hit up Lily Pond for Diddy's Cîroc Party and who did we see? Oh yes...Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy. And I just have to go on record as saying that woman brings a whole new meaning to abs of steel! She is flawless!

After waiting until almost 2 AM for Diddy's not-so-grand arrival, we were pretty spent. Before leaving we also saw Jaci and Morris Reid and Fabolous. (BTW Jaci...We were loving that dress!) After Lily, we debated whether or not to carry on to the Whitehouse in Hampton Bays to catch the tail end of Donnie Klang's performance, but we decided to pass. Sure, this was a working weekend, but there was still a lot more work to be done - and sleep was a necessary evil so we had to be choosey.

There's more after the jump!
