Hilton & Katzenberg Party at Lily Pond

Photo: KirillWasHere.com
Nicky Hilton returned to East Hampton to host the Absolut Vodka and Perrier-Jouët bash at Lily Pond this weekend. Paris' litle sis arrived with boyfriend David Katzenberg in a tight black dress and danced until the wee hours of the night at her 'Malibu Summer Soiree.' When she wasn't partying at Lily Pond, Miss Nicky Hilton was busy tweeting about her time in the Hamptons. Apparently the heiress was expecting a "Housewife" sighting or two.We hear Nicky was the ultimate house guest this weekend, opting to stay with friends instead of in a hotel, as the Hilton family compound was rented for the summer.
UPDATE: Page Six has their own version of what went down with Hilton at Lily Pond.

Congratulations to The Broderick's

Robyn Layton/Handout Photo
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are the proud parents of twin girls, Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge. The couple wisely beat the paparazzi to the punch and released the above photo, shot by Robyn Layton, which shows SJP and Broderick, along with their six-year-old son, James Wilkie, gushing over the family's latest additions. The twins were born in a Martins Ferry, Ohio hospital last Monday, via surrogate. The couple's publicist released a statement that read, “The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”
Parker will most likely have plenty "Mommy and Me" time as the mega star isn't expected to begin filming her second Sex and the City film until late in 2009. Doting Dad Broderick already has his latest film in the can, Margaret, in which he stars alongside Matt Damon and Anna Paquin.
Let the 'double stroller' sightings on Main St. begin!
The Hamptons Remember Michael Jackson
This weekend, everyone had one thing in common — Michael Jackson. From the DJ's to the Starbuck's baristas, the theme was the same; shock, sadness, and nostalgia. At the Ross School in East Hampton, Courtney Sale Ross took pause during the school's 1st Annual Pro-Am Tennis Tournament to remember the King of Pop. Ross addressed her guests, which included Congressman Tim Bishop, Rod Stewart's son, Sean Stewart, and tennis greats Jim Grab, Todd Martin, Luke Jensen, and Murphy Jensen, with a heartfelt tribute to the performer. The Ross School founder enlightened her guests to her friendship with Jackson, telling of the time Jackson came to stay with her and her late husband, Steven J. Ross, at their Hamptons home shortly after his horrific Pepsi commercial accident in 1984.
Still recovering from the burns on his head, Jackson found solace and relaxation at the Ross' home and she still fondly remembers their time together. "He was loving, sweet and very kind," Ross told us. "But, he was troubled."
Have a Great Weekend!
No matter how history will recall the man, it is his music that will undoubtedly be remembered for generations to come. Through his music he changed the face of pop culture, raised expectations, and defined a new video world. He gave us 40 years of infectious music that crossed all cultural barriers and, for that, we will always be grateful.
We hope you all have a happy & safe weekend. We'll see you back here on Monday.

The Countdown to Bridgehampton Polo Has Begun
Start popping the Perrier-Jouët! We have just over three weeks to go until the return of the coveted Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field.
Despite last season's numerous match cancelations, due to rain, the parties under the tents never ceased to deliver.
In 2008, The Bridgehampton Polo Club welcomed guests that included Chace Crawford, Star Jones, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Kristin Cavallari, Katie Lee Joel, Nicky Hilton, Stella Keitel, Morris & Jaci Reid, Don & Katrina Peebles, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Alex McCord, Michael Gelman, Russell Simmons, Robin Quivers, Edward Tricomi, and Hamptons Magazine's Jason & Hailey Binn, Cristina Cuomo, and Debra Halpert.
And, in the "you never know who you'll run into at polo" category, even Tina Louise, a.k.a. Ginger from Gilligan's Island, paid a visit to Blue Star Jets Field. I kid you not. At Polo, we've come to expect the unexpected.
Though we haven't received any word on who'll be hosting the Opening Day festivities on July 18th, we do have it on pretty good authority that a certain TV show about a concierge doctor in the Hamptons may very well be filming scenes at polo this season. You can bet your mallet we'll be keeping you posted on that!
Until then, here are the facts...
Spotlight Photo: James Ingram Live at Ross

Photo: Lisa Wagner/Blog Hamptons/Splash News
The incomparable James Ingram treated guests at Ross School's 6th Annual Live at Club Starlight benefit gala to a memorable performance of his chart-topping classic hits, including "Just Once" and "One Hundred Ways" - two songs from his unforgettable work on Quincy Jones' 1981 album, The Dude. Ingram, a multi Grammy award-winner and Oscar nominee, has recently returned to recording with the release of his latest CD, Stand (In The Light), which he told us is an "inspirational album" inspired by the plight of Hurricane Katrina victims. The CD features a collection of new works, with the exception of Yah Mo Be There, a re-release of his 1983 Grammy winning duet with Michael McDonald. You can enjoy the music James Ingram by visiting his personal YouTube Channel and for information on upcoming performances, visit jamesingramsmusic.com.
DID YOU KNOW : James Ingram co-wrote Michael Jackson's 1983 hit P. Y. T. (Pretty Young Thing) with Quincy Jones.

Southampton Inn’s Summer Brunch Poolside Party

Photo Courtesy of The Southampton Inn
Since it's looking as though this Sunday will actually be the closest thing to a hot summer day we've seen a while, we wanted to remind everyone about The Southampton Inn's Summer Brunch Poolside Party!Every Sunday from 11:30pm – 4pm, during the summer months, the Summer Brunch Poolside Party will feature Tapas style fine food and an exotic drink menu for you to enjoy at the Inn’s beautiful pool and gardens. The menu will offer guests their choice of a delicious Lamb Carpaccio, to fresh oysters and shrimp or lobster dim sum. The Inn will also offer standard fair of Sunday egg dishes and classic burgers.
The concept of the Poolside Party is to bring together locals and visitors of the Hamptons and their families to enjoy a lovely Sunday afternoon frolicking around the pool. Their objective is to bring people together for the ultimate poolside social and some summer fun. Their dj will spin Saint Tropez and Ibiza style tunes and the menu will be executed by Chef Bryan Naylor and hosted by Derrick Reason, Sidi Belqaid and Liz Derringer.
The dress code is casual, and don't forget to bring your bathing suits if you’d like to take a cool, refreshing dip. Tennis will be available upon request and showers and locker rooms are provided.
So far, our favorite weather man and Hamptonite, Sam Champion, is calling for mostly sunny skies with a high of 84 this Sunday. Sounds like a perfect day to relax poolside at The Southampton Inn!
UPDATE: Scratch that. Now it looks as though Sunday will bring a chance of isolated thunderstorms. High of 73. Raise your hand if you're over it.

- Jill Zarin is gearing up for the Hamptons Golf Classic with some golf lessons at Chelsea Piers. - Now that everyone has learned The Blue Parrot is open and ready for business, even curious celebs are popping in to see what all the buzz is about. Newsday's Hangin' In The Hamptons reports that stylist and reality TV star, Rachel Zoe, was recently spotted enjoying a "casual date" with her husband, Rodger Berman, and PlumTV got the scoop on Martha Stewart's visit to our favorite margarita joint.
- Amagansett resident Sarah Jessica Parker was pulled over by state troopers on Rt. 27 last week for operating her new Mercedes minivan without headlights. Turns out the 'Sex and the City' star didn't know how to turn them on. The trooper let the fashion plate, and her too-cute-for-words son, James Wilke, go with just a warning...after showing her how to turn the lights on course. [NY Post]

Alec Baldwin & Nicole Miller Get EcoFabulous
Congratulations are in order for Group for the East End and more than 400 environmentally-friendly East Enders who came together to make eco-magic happen! Thanks to Saturday night's EcoFabulous in the East End green gala at the Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack, more than $530,000 has been raised to date to benefit Group for the East End's local conservation efforts. The farm-to-table meal prepared by local chefs using foods from local farms was extremely well-received and, as a response to the theme of the benefit, the Group has seen an abundance of post-event giving. Everyone in involved in this remarkable eco-bash deserves a round of applause!
The Silent EcoAuction was also a huge success and educated guests on the fact that luxury and environmental-friendliness can coexist. Auction Host and environmentalist Alec Baldwin kept the crowd in stitches during the Live Auction...consistently referring to the gorgeous Andy Valmorbida as "Kreskin" for his preemptive bids. The Long Island native and star of NBC's 30 Rock channeled his inner Jack Donaghy by reminding bidders where their money was going with one-liners including (for an Apes Hill Golf trip to Barbados) "golf is the greatest plan devised to protect open spaces” and (for a week for 6 in a luxury St. Martin Villa) "St. Martin was the patron saint of conserving natural resources".
Designer extraordinaire Nicole Miller served as the evenings Honorary Dinner Host and eco-conscious guests included Stavros Niarchos, Jonathan & Somers Farkas, Dorothy Lichtenstein and Real Housewife Ramona Singer.
If you weren't able to attend EcoFabulous in the East End, it's not too late to hop on the eco-bandwagon and do your part. Visit groupfortheeastend.org to learn how you can help protect and restore the environment of eastern Long Island.

Pink Elephant Files For Bankruptcy
Alarms sounded from SoHo to Southampton yesterday when cityfile.com announced on their website that Pink Elephant and their newly launched Day and Night had filed for bankruptcy. First of all, lovers of the famed Chelsea location can breathe easy. Seriously, some of you became downright apoplectic! While Southampton Yen Restaurant Group, LLC, operators of the Southampton hotspots Pink Elephant and Day and Night, did in fact file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week, it will not affect Pink Elephant Chelsea.
As a matter of fact, it's probably not going to affect Pink Elephant, or Day and Night, in Southampton either. Here's the Reader's Digest version of what we know...

The 53rd Annual Blessing of the Fleet

Photo: Lisa Wagner/Blog Hamptons
The 53rd Annual Blessing of the Fleet took place in Montauk this Sunday and I was lucky enough to share the day aboard Captain Michael Pott's Blue Fin IV.Captain Mike's 41' Custom Sportfisherman, docked right behind Dave's Grill at the Viking Dock in Montauk Harbor, is one of the top charter boats in town, often booked months in advance by those looking to do some serious inshore and offshore fishing. But for the Blessing of the Fleet, the legendary Blue Fin IV welcomed only family and friends, a case of fresh Tuna and filet mignon, and a few bottles of wine. This was my first time actually covering the Blessing of the Fleet, and Captain Mike, First Mate Huey, and their gracious guests, made sure it was an experience I'd never forget.

OK, OK, you can stop emailing us. We are officially addressing the elephant in the room! The Hamptons Auto Classic: Under Bid & Unsold

Photo: Lisa Wagner/Blog Hamptons
According to their website, The Hamptons Auto Classic is styled as a ‘boutique’ auction "offering a select number of carefully chosen lots." The auction "caters to those second-home owners with disposable income who are ready to indulge nostalgically in the car they lusted for in their college years, or who are now in a position to assemble a more ambitious collection of classic or exotic motor cars."On Saturday, organizers were counting on some of that "disposable income" to make a strong showing when they set up shop at The Hayground School and rolled in a lot of 68 cars for auction. The range of vehicles on this year's lot list were nothing short of a motor enthusiasts dream and included everything from a 1967 Maserati Ghibli Coupé to Max Weinberg's pristine 1957 Corvette.
Paula Froelich: Mercury In East Hampton
PAGE SIX editrix Paula Froelich was soaking up the love all over East Hampton this weekend. On Friday night, the gossip gal celebrated the smash success of her debut novel, Mercury in Retrograde at a private party at Georgica Restaurant & Lounge. The timing of the celebratory bash couldn't have been better, as Froelich was surely still riding high from the news that Mercury in Retrograde had just landed on the NY Times Best Seller list. DJ Nick Cohen kept the music flowing and Georgica Chefs Robert Hesse and Seth Levine (pictured below) whipped up some of their insanely scrumptious hors d'oeuvres for Paula's VIP guests.
On Saturday, Paula was off to BookHampton on Main St. in East Hampton for an early evening book reading with her dog Karl in tow. It was there we learned that a sequel to Mercury in Retrograde, Mercury Rising, is already in the works.
Judging by the books early success, all of the media buzz, and the fact that it's just that good, it sounds like the next step for Karl's mom would be a movie deal, right? Well, maybe not. A little birdie told us there are some serious discussions going on behind closed doors about turning Mercury in Retrograde into a TV series. Hmmmm. Network? Cable? Only time will tell, but you can bet we'll be keeping our eyes and ears open as the gossip on the gossiper develops.
Until then, if you've already read Mercury in Retrograde, we'd love to hear who you think should play the role of Penelope Mercury! Let us know in the comments. If you haven't already read it, what are you waiting for? Mercury In Retrograde is on sale and in stock at Amazon.com.
Our congratulations to Paula Froelich on her well deserved success and our thanks to everyone at Georgica Restaurant & Lounge and BookHampton for welcoming us this weekend.

Lindsay Lohan Closes AXE Lounge

Photo: Lisa Wagner/Blog Hamptons/SplashNews.com
Lindsay Lohan was all a-twitter at AXE Lounge in Southampton on Friday night. The infamously quirky red head arrived shortly after 1 am, with longtime friend, attorney and AXE partner, Mike Heller. The duo and their posse of eight took to Heller's private table where Lindsay spent the better part of the evening banning club goers from taking cell phone pics. After security stepped in and made it clear that the actress deserved her privacy, Lohan put her hair up, kicked back a bottle of Fiji Water, and began tweeting her on-again-off-again girlfriend Samantha Ronson. But it wasn't all photo enforcement and 140 character updates for the Long Island native. Lindsay wound up dancing the night away, in her sequined half shirt and skinny jeans, to the sounds of DJ Phresh. Lindsay and Heller finally called it a night at closing...around 4 am.Be sure to check out our AXE Lounge Photo Gallery for more photos of Lindsay, and to see who else was hangin' at the hottest club in the Hamptons this weekend.
Beth Ostrosky Stern Launches New BODHI Bags
Beth Ostrosky Stern hosted a luncheon at Savannah's in Southampton on Saturday to launch BODHI bags' new, limited edition animal-friendly collection. The cruelty free line of clutches, totes, hobos, dog carriers and collars will help support North Shore Animal League America by donating an amazing 100% of the profits to the Long Island based no-kill shelter.
Beth, who rocked summer chic in a floral Ralph Lauren halter dress, was accompanied by her English Bulldog Bianca, who was pawfectly accessorized in a pink, faux-patent BODHI collar.
Guests included Real Housewives Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Bethenny Frankel, who had an awkward but pleasant exchange before Kelly, her daughters, and their two dogs made a graceful exit shortly after Bethenny arrived.
But the real stars of the day were the puppies brought to Savannah's by the North Shore Animal League for their adoption drive. Bethenny was particularly smitten with one 7-week-old precious pup who fell asleep on her shoulder during an interview with News 12's Gina Glickman. The puppies in need of "forever homes" melted the hearts of Rosanna Scotto and her lovely, look-a-like daughter Jenna, Jill Martin, Ellen Scarborough, and BODHI designer Joseph Janus, who brought along his own pampered pooch, Marco.

Not So Blind Item: AXE Lounge's Star Power
One thing is for sure...whatever goes down at AXE Lounge this weekend, we'll have all the dish right here at Blog Hamptons!
The Weekend Lineup
Despite some threats of even more rain this weekend, we've still got a full weekend ahead of us, and things get jumping pretty early on Friday. The big event this weekend is of course the Montauk Yacht Club's 80th Anniversary Celebration. Running from Friday to Sunday, the MYC has a weekend jam packed with parties and entertainment. On Saturday, Katie Lee Joel will be hosting their Family Funday & Burger Bash on the great lawn from 11 am to 4 pm. Tickets are still available and are only $30 for adults, $15 per child, and include food and beverages. And since it looks like Saturday will be our only guaranteed day of "mostly sunshine," let's all get out and enjoy it while we can.
We'll of course be seeing you at AXE Lounge on Friday and Saturday night, and don't forget that Billy Joel's “20th Century Cycles: The Motorcycle as Art and Icon” exhibit is still at Christy’s in Sag Harbor. We'll have more on the exhibit a little later in the week! Christy's is located at 3 Madison St, Sag Harbor, and the exhibit will run through the 20th.
I hope you all have a great and safe weekend. We'll see you out & about!

Save The Date: It's Time For Authors Night!
There are a few events we look forward to all year, and Authors Night at The East Hampton Library is definitely one of them. A great literary social, the annual Authors Night benefit event, now in its 5th year, brings a wide range of authors, and their readers, together under one tent for the ultimate meet & greet. This year, The East Hampton Library will welcome Alec Baldwin (A Promise to Ourselves) and Candace Bushnell (One Fifth Avenue, Sex and the City), both of whom are serving as honorary co-chairs, Jay McInerney (Bright Lights, Big City) and more than 80 distinguished authors, including Pulitzer Prize winners Robert A. Caro and Philip Schultz.

Other featured best-selling authors include Steven Gaines, Bethenny Frankel, Joy Behar, Melissa Bank, Nelson DeMille, A.M. Homes, Dava Sobel, Lorenzo Carcaterra, Stuart Woods, Robert Goolrick, and many more.
Who's Up For Bellinis, Boys and Fun?
You have to love any event that's billed as "Bellinis, Boys and Fun!"So when we received a press release telling us that Matto in East Hampton is launching Saturdays After The Beach and kicking it off with Bellinis, Boys and Fun, we were definitely intriqued.
Everyone already knows that the food at Matto is to die for (I'm shamelessly in love with their Pizza Margherita) but now that they're throwing "strolling male models" into the mix for one hot afternoon, it just seems like a win-win for everyone.
Here's the scoop: Michael Dare, director of special events at MTV, and Marc Zowine, hairdresser to the stars, will host Bellinis, Boys and Fun at Matto in East Hampton this Saturday, June 13th from 3 – 5:30 p.m.
The event, sponsored by Hampton Sun, will feature bellinis at the bar, Matto’s specialty bruschetta (you must try the Broccoli di Rape and Sausage,) and "strolling male models." They won't just be strolling eye candy though, they'll be at the ready to spritz you with Hampton Sun’s signature fragrance. Guests will also have a chance to win a Hampton Sun Smart Serious Sunbathing gift basket. And here's the best part -- you just need to be voted as having the Best Tan Lines to win! (Wonder if a farmer's tan counts?)
Matto (which means "crazy" in Italian) is owned by Lidia Buonanno. Lidia teamed up with two of the top players from Cipriani Worldwide, Giovanni Zuanon and Pietro Molendini, to reopen this authentic Trattoria with some new twists this season.

Bret Michaels & His Nose Entertain at Tony Awards
I feel the need to preface this post by saying, "Bret, you know we love you. But even you'd be laughing your ass off at this video -- if it wasn't your face getting a Broadway beat-down."
For those who didn't catch the 2009 Tony Awards, you might be surprised to learn that Bret Michaels and his band, Poison, were among the performers at last night's Broadway honors. Part of the elaborate opening number, Poison rocked it like it was 1986 with an abridged version of their hair metal classic, Nothin' But a Good Time, along with the cast of "Rock of Ages."
After waiving goodbye to his receptive audience, the good times came to abrupt halt for Michaels when he turned to leave the stage and ran face first into a huge "Broadway" sign being lowered from the rafters.
Heather Locklear Supports Beaches & Bays

Heather Locklear looked absolutely radiant on Saturday when she arrived at the East Hampton home of Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper for the "Beaches and Bays Gala."
Locklear wore a black, strapless jumpsuit paired with summer sandals and an oversized copper clutch to the outdoor fund raiser. Aside from her dangling gold earrings, the only accessory this beauty was sporting was her flawless California tan.
The Nature Conservancy's cocktail kick-off party also welcomed Haley & Jason Binn, Liza Sandler & Donnie Deutsch, R.Couri Hay, Executive Director, Nancy Kelley, and the evening's Co-chairs, Leslie & Brian Brille and Mary Kathryn & Alex Navab.
The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. Since their founding in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has helped to protect more than 119 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of rivers worldwide.

“She is the epitome of class, and I think even on a show like ‘The Housewives of Washington,’ she could pull it off.”
Rachel McAdams Back On Set On Long Island

Rachel McAdams was back on Long Island today filming her new movie, Morning Glory, in Mineola today. When we caught up with the 30 year-old beauty, she was snapping pictures of the cast & crew during some down time on set. And when the rain started to fall, Rachel got a little help from her assitant/umbrella holder. Boy, being a movie star sure has its perks!

Jason Binn Sits Down With Bloomberg TV
It's not all soiree's and glamour for media mogul Jason Binn. The founder and CEO of Niche Media LLC and Publisher of Hamptons Magazine has actual business to tend to when he's not sipping champagne and hosting guests like Christie Brinkley and Anna Paquin. Recently, Binn sat down with Venture host Cris Valerio to talk about Ocean Drive (the glossy that started it all), the magazine publishing industry as a whole, and his business model for luxury, regional magazines -- a model that remains steadfast in maintaining its minimum requirements to send out free subscriptions to readers.
So what is the minimum requirement? Let's just say, 'If you have to ask,' you don't qualify. The mere fact that you own a million-dollar-plus home won't help you make the grade. That annual income of over $250K you're so proud of? It's a good start, but that alone won't get you on the mailing list either. Add an excess of $1 Million in liquid assets to all of the above and then, and only then, might they deem you worthy of postage.
Party AC Style: Cabana Club & C5 at the Chelsea
If you're looking for a Hamptons alternative this weekend, our friends over at Sky Group have a killer weekend lined up in Atlantic City. Cabana Club & C5 at the Chelsea Hotel are kicking things off this Friday night (6/5) with a live performance by Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. DJ Mad will also be performing "Put Your Drinks Up" and DJ Los will be spinning all night. On Saturday night, Shwayze's Birthday Bash will take over Cabana Club & C5, with live performances by Shwayze & Cisco Adler and music by DJ Sinatra.
For those not already in the know, The Cabana Club is Atlantic City's answer to a Vegas style beach club and the only open air nightlife experience in the city. C5, inside of Cabana Club, is the Chelsea's "club within the club." C5 is a "boutique nightlife experience" with a glamorous rock-n-roll edge. For anyone ready to spend the weekend partying at this swank seaside resort, you might as well go all the way with a little indulgent pampering too. The Chelsea's 10,000 sq. ft. luxury Sea Spa is on site with saltwater-inspired treatments, the Social Sauna, and their outdoor, heated saltwater pool.
Maybe hit up the Sea Spa for a basalt stone massage before joining the Cabana Club's pool party on Sunday afternoon, hosted by the Beach Bunny Swimwear Girls. You can always top-off your weekend at The Chelsea with dinner at Chelsea Prime or Teplitzky’s. The point is, no matter how you map out your weekend in AC, you just can't go wrong at The Chelsea!
