(We love ya Alec, but you're going to have to help us understand that technique!)

Spotlight Photo: The Watermill Center's “Inferno”

Atmosphere at The 16th Annual Watermill Summer Benefit Gala, Inferno.

A few of the highlights of this year's gala, held on Saturday, July 18th, included the Fire Breather (pictured above) who had spectators watching in awe (and admittedly, sometimes in fear) as he had flames dancing on his lips and tongue and spewed fireballs of gasoline into the night air. Sue de Beer’s “Ring of Trees” was a stunning 360 degree, light-projecting cylinder of trees that welcomed guests in the Knee Building, and Sophia Jones' Giant Spider, which was created by using more than 10 child puppeteers, was not to be believed as it walked along the West terrace. Shige Moriya’s tunnel-like installation, the “Cathedral-within,” was another show stopper, nestled in the woods, as was Yochai Matos' brilliant 26-foot high light installation “The Flame” - which was formed from fluorescent lights.
The 16th Annual Watermill Summer Benefit raised a total of $1.4 million for the Center’s year-round international artist residencies and education programs. Guests of this spectacular evening included Isabella Rossellini, Calvin Klein, Rufus Wainwright, Laura Harring, Roger Waters, Marina Ambramovic, Terence Koh, Nacho Figueras, Ross Bleckner, Anne Hearst McInerney and Jay McInerney, Bob Colacello, Richard Meier, Lisa Anastos, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Klaus Biesenbach, Debbie Bancroft, Eric Ripert, Lisa de Kooning, Christophe de Menil, Tatiana and Campion Platt, and Nicole Miller.
A major contribution to the evening was the silent and live auctions of artworks donated by the international artists’ community. Highlights included a Douglas Gordon portrait of Ingrid Bergman presented by Ingrid Bergman’s daughter, Isabella Rossellini, and Robert Wilson’s VOOM Portrait of the Black Panther. Peter Lindbergh’s commissioned portrait went for twice the expected value. A great success was the artist-in-residence auction item – guests had the opportunity to sponsor young emerging artist residencies at Watermill. Auction items included works by Andy Warhol, Terence Koh, Elizabeth Payton, Robert Mapplethorpe, Neo Rauch, and William Kentridge.
We'll be adding photos from the 16th Annual Watermill Summer Benefit to our Photo Gallery tomorrow afternoon, so be sure to check back!
Spotlight Photo: Wonderful Day for a Bromance

Michael Lohan and Jon Gosselin attend Week 2 of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge.

Gosselin and Lohan arrived with Michael's fiancée, Erin Muller, and Mike Heller of Talent Resources. Gosselin, who we chatted with while he was snacking on his 3rd bag of popchips™ because he was “starving,” told us he didn't even get to see the Polo match things were so crazy. “They were playing Polo?,” Gosselin joked, “I didn't get to see much of it, but it looked really cool.”
Stay tuned for more on the never ending Gosselin/Lohan Hamptons Bromance and check after the jump for more pics! This week's Polo Photo Gallery will up soon. It was a particularly insane weekend around here! ;)
(And kudos to GofG Hamptons for tagging them “Gohan” -we love it!)

Justin, Jane and Larry Lee hit up opening day of the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge 2009 at Blue Star Jets Field this weekend and, true to form, Justin had his trusty camera in hand. So, if any questionable images of Star Jones pop-up on Facebook, you know who to turn to!
The only commentary I have on the Lee Family Fun Day at Polo is directed to Justin's Dad...
Spotlight Photo: Micah Jesse's Birthday Bash

Micah Jesse and friends take over Day & Night Beach Club for his White Hot Bithday Party.

Styled in what can only be describes as a St. Tropez meets Stg. Pepper ensemble, Micah Jesse brought his own brand of "amazingness," and one lone gold leather driving glove, to Day & Night Beach Club on Saturday for his White Hot Birthday Party. Celebrating 23 years of high-fashion risk taking, Micah welcomed guest DJ Mia Moretti, Derek and Daniel Koch, Ally Zarin (Real Housewives of NYC), Stylist Leo "LV" Velasquez, Designers Shane & Shawn Ward, Georgica's Matt Levine, Zara Terez, Mike Heller, Rachel Heller, Amanda Mitchell, Matt Moncada and Kevin Bulla to his champagne filled, white-themed day of debauchery.
One guest summed up the spirit of Micah's cabana bash best when he exclaimed, “It's brunch bitches!” - before pouring half a bottle of Moët down his shorts. And frankly, I can't top that so I'll just say, Happy Birthday Micah! xoxo
