The ladies of Southampton Historical Museum launch sexy fund raising calendar. Photo: Nick MansfieldLet's hear it for the girls! The Calendar Girls that is. The bevy of beauties who “doffed their clothes” to raise money for Southampton Historical Museum's Halsey House restoration project. “Historical Figures of Southampton” now has a whole new meaning.  [Hamptons.com]

HarperCollins has confirmed that Sag Harbor resident Billy Joel is currently penning his memoir with veteran entertainment journalist Fred Schruers. Cue the media's obligatory “My Life” puns.  [Newsday]

And in grizzly news worthy of a CSI: Hamptons episode, investigators are combing the sands in Sagaponack after a body washed up on the beach just east of Peters Pond Road.  [SH Press]

UPDATE: Police have determined that the body found on the beach in Sagaponack is that of a 60-year-old Sag Harbor man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  [LI Press]

The Borrowed Blog: Sex, Sales & Saviors

Sex and the City 2 films at Coopers BeachThe Sex and the City 2 crew bused in a bevy of extras and parking lot full of Mercedes to Coopers Beach this week to film scenes for the franchises upcoming sequel. Even though Southampton won't be the town getting the big screen mention, the village is surely content with the revenue generated from the three day film shoot.  [EH Press]

While it's definitely a buyers marker, with Matt Lauer purchasing a cozy cottage in Southampton and Tuesday Weld's Surfside Avenue listing finally closing, it seems some people still prefer to pilfer from famous listings than actually purchase them.  [Curbed Hamptons]

Alec Baldwin, Joy Behar, Jonathan Tisch, U.S. Rep Tim Bishop, Steven Gaines and photographer Peter Beard are just a few of the notable local supporters fighting to save WLIU-FM. Here's to hoping they can pull a rabbit out of their hat before Wednesday!  [AP]

The Borrowed Blog: Yachts & Wal-Mart Don't Mix

Jessica Seinfeld Is No CopycatOn the upside, a New York Federal Judge has ruled that Jessica Seinfeld is no culinary copycat and that consumers are not confused. On the downside, my niece still won't eat broccoli no matter what we stuff it in.  [Newsday]

After being pulled over by Westhampton Beach Village Police for crossing a double yellow line at 12:55 AM, Southampton Town Supervisor Linda Kabot failed field sobriety tests, refused a breathalyzer, and was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated. Now the Supervisor is fighting back and claiming the arresting officers were “overzealous.”  And, in a statement sure to make M.A.D.D. mad, she also insinuates that her arrest may have been political “payback.”  [LI Press]

The Montauk Yacht Club is looking to add 48,000 square feet of condos to their recently renovated Star Island property. One concerned citizen stepped forward at a recent East Hampton Town planning board meeting to say they don't want the proposed expansion “to look like a Wal-Mart.”  To which we can only imagine M.Y.C. owner and real estate tycoon Andrew Farkas responding with, “What’s a Wal-Mart?”  [Curbed Hamptons]

The Borrowed Blog: Bouncing, Hiding & Running

Ed Kleenfield Bounces His Way To Two More ArrestesOK, now this is really getting out of hand!

Ed "Jean Luc' Kleefield has added two more arrests to his resume. On August 5th the restaurateur was busted for issuing a worthless payroll check in the amount of $2,200, and then on August 12th he was back in the hoosegow for signing his name to a piece of paper that he tried to pass off as a $12K rent check. Ed, WTF?  [Curbed H]

Ralph Lauren made an appearance at Guild Hall's Art of Fashion event on Friday night. Too bad he didn't want anyone to know!  [Page Six]

More than 600 runners & walkers participated in the 14th Annual Ellen's Run and raised more than $135,000 for breast cancer awareness and research! Kudos and sincere thanks to each and every one of you!  [Hamptons.com]

For just $35 million, you too can live like a rock star! Or, if the recession has you watching your pennies, you can live like a rock star's ex-Super-Model-wife for a mere $30 million.  [HiTH]

The Borrowed Blog: Bentley's Don't Float

Kourtney KardashianJust a few weeks after they were spotted canoodling at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field, Kourtney Kardashian has announced that she and off-again-on-again boyfriend Scott Disick are expecting their first child. The happy news comes just in time to promote her spin-off show, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, which debuts on E! this Sunday.  [Star]

When we first read The East Hampton Press story on the Bentley that sunk to the bottom of Lake Montauk, we couldn't help but think of that famous line from Risky Business; "Who's the U-Boat Commander?" In this case, it was Paul Marzario - who was reminded that his $125,000 loss was "just" a car.  [EH Press]

What's 94 feet wide, 634 feet long and has north-facing windows? Herzog & de Meuron’s new design for the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton.  [NYT]

And last but not least, Bethenny Frankel takes the words right out of our mouths and tweets to the world that parking in East Hampton is no laughing matter! (Which reminds me, I have to pay my parking tickets!)  [@Bethenny]

The Borrowed Blog: Dating, Gas & Conversation

Billy Joel“And so it goes...”

Billy Joel has apparently returned to the dating scene. Page Six is reporting that the recently separated Piano Man has hooked up with former soap star, Alex Donnelley. Which means that I lost the office pool on how long it would take the paparazzi to descend upon Sag Harbor for their first attempts at rebound pics. (Six weeks, Billy. You couldn't have waited a full six weeks?)   [Page Six]

Alec Baldwin and screenwriter Jon Robin Baitz will present a Screenwriting Conference at the Avram Theater on the Southampton Campus of Stony Brook University this August 1st. Guests of the conference can expect "surprising, humorous and practical conversation." And for $35 bucks, that seems like a pretty good deal.   [examiner.com NY]

One story that had a plethora of headline options was this little gassy nugget on Governor David Paterson. Seems the Governor and fellow guests at Joan and Skip Hamburg's backyard BBQ needed some state aide to heat things up.   [Page Six]

The always lovely Christy Turlington hosted the Shop For Care in-store benefit at Temperley London in East Hampton on Saturday. While we were saying "Oh my God, look at the time" over at Polo, Christy was greeting guests like Fabiola Beracasa, Jessica Seinfeld, Derek Blasberg, Jason Binn, and Matt Levine. Our apologies, Christy!   [GofG Hamptons]
