Jimmy Buffett Joins Ilo Ferreria at Talkhouse

JImmy BuffettJimmy Buffett thrilled the crowd at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett on Wednesday night when he hopped up on stage with Ilo Ferreria during a benefit concert for the Wounded Warrior Project. His appearance wasn't a complete surprise to everyone in the house as the famed music club had been promoting Ferreria along with a "Special Guest."  Since it was Buffett who discovered the Cape Verde native, while on vacation off the coast of Africa, Parrot Heads were able to put two and two together.

Buffett and Ferreia performed "Volcano", during which he gave a shout-out to Amagansett & Montauk, as well as a cover of Bob Marley's "One Love."  But no Jimmy Buffett appearance would be complete without the obligatory sing-along hit, "Margaritaville."  There wasn't a voice in building that didn't sing out “salt - salt - salt” right on cue. Buffett joked with the crowd that he is “never ashamed or tired of singing this hit,” adding, “It pays the f*cking rent! I refuse to participate in this recession.”

You tell 'em, Jimmy!

Proceeds from Wednesday's concert at the Talkhouse will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project in the name of Don Sharkey, the East Hampton Town Building Inspector who passed away on July 6th at the age of 46. Don, an Amagansett resident and member of Amagansett Fire Department, was a diligent supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and a Soldier Ride volunteer.
