Danny Glover to appear at Guild HallGuild Hall will kick off Labor Day Weekend tonight at 8 p.m. with the Hamptons International Film Festival's final presentation in their SummerDoc series, William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe. Alec Baldwin will be hosting the screening in the famed John Drew Theater.

In William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe, filmmakers Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler explore the life of their father, the late radical civil rights lawyer. In the 1960s and 70s, Kunstler fought for civil rights with Martin Luther King Jr. and represented the famed “Chicago 8” activists who protested the Vietnam War. When the inmates took over Attica prison, or when the American Indian Movement stood up to the federal government at Wounded Knee, they asked Kunstler to be their lawyer.

On Saturday, September 5th, the great Danny Glover and Kathleen Chalfant will star in Emmett, Down in My Heart by Clare Coss. The production will be directed by Jim Lawson and portions of the proceeds will go to benefit the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center. Clare Coss's profoundly moving play is vital for our time. The interwoven stories of Emmett Till, his mother Mrs. Till-Mobley, and white school teacher Roanne Taylor create a rich, dramatic work that touches the heart and provokes thought and action. A local gospel choir will introduce the evening.

Tickets for Saturday night's stage production are $40 for members, $42 for non-members. $100 VIP tickets are still available and will include a post-show Garden Reception.

On Sunday, September 6th, Guild Hall will present Resurrection Blues by Arthur Miller: A Staged Reading in association with Playwrights’ Theatre of East Hampton at 8 p.m. The reading will be directed by Robert Kalfin and feature Roger Clark, David Czismadia, Ronnie Farer , John Fitzgibbon, Leona Hanman, Robert Lydiard, Sam Tsoutsivas, Sabrina Veroczi, and Joseph Brondo.

And don't forget that The Art of Fashion in the Hamptons is still being exhibited at Guild Hall through October 12th. Museum hours through Labor Day are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11 to 5 p.m., and Sunday's from noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Tuesdays. After Labor Day the museum will be open weekends only: Friday and Saturday 11 - 5 p.m. and Sunday's noon to 5 p.m.
